PORT TOWNSEND, Wash. — U.S. and Canadian search crews are searching for a person who reportedly fell from a 12-foot vessel near Point Wilson at the entrance to Admiralty Inlet on Thursday.
The search includes the U.S. Coast Guard, the Royal Canadian Air Force and several maritime partners. Crews are focusing on waters between Port Townsend, Whidbey Island and Discovery Bay.
According to the U.S. Coast Guard Pacific Northwest, the person reportedly fell overboard near Point Wilson, located at the northeastern tip of the Quimper Peninsula.
Meanwhile, flight tracking data showed multiple aircraft flying search patterns over Admiralty Inlet on Thursday afternoon. A Royal Canadian Air Force CC-295 Kingfisher search-and-rescue aircraft joined the operation.
Search Effort Expands Across Admiralty Inlet
The Coast Guard announced the search Thursday afternoon and asked the public for help.
The U.S. Coast Guard, Royal Canadian Air Force, and partners are actively searching for an individual that is believed to have fallen off a 12-foot vessel in the vicinity of Point Wilson, Washington.

So far, officials have not released the person’s identity. They also have not said when the person entered the water or how many people were aboard the vessel.
