Pallets Fall Onto I-5 Near Blaine, Prompting Police Response

BLAINE, Wash. — Six pallets fell onto Interstate 5 near Blaine Monday night after an unsecured load spilled onto the freeway, creating a dangerous situation for passing drivers and responding officers.

Blaine Police assisted the Washington State Patrol after the pallets fell onto the freeway near milepost 275.

While officers worked to clear the roadway, several semi-trucks and other vehicles ran over the pallets. The impacts sent pieces of wood and other debris flying toward officers.

Police said officers had to dodge the flying debris while working in the roadway.

No collisions resulted from vehicles striking the pallets, and no one was injured.
