SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. — A Gold Bar man crossed the centerline on U.S. 2 while passing traffic Sunday and crashed head-on into a motorcycle carrying a Canadian woman, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The collision also involved a second motorcycle carrying another Canadian man who was traveling with her. Debris from the first crash struck his motorcycle.
The crash happened around 1:46 p.m. on Sunday, near Fern Bluff.

Rider Taken to Providence
WSP identified the driver as Roger S. Anderson, 64, of Gold Bar. Anderson drove a 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse westbound on U.S. 2 before crossing the centerline to pass traffic.
Anderson then hit an eastbound motorcycle head-on.
Christine A. Lowe, 42, of Summerland, British Columbia, rode the motorcycle. The crash injured Lowe, and medics took her to Providence.
James A. Lyons, 41, also of Summerland, rode the second motorcycle. Debris from the initial collision hit Lyons’ motorcycle, but he did not suffer injuries.
WSP said both wore compliant helmets.
Anderson escaped injury and was wearing a seat belt, according to WSP.
WSP Investigates Crash
The collision sent Anderson’s Eclipse into a ditch along the eastbound shoulder. The two motorcycles came to rest near the Fern Bluff and U.S. 2 intersection.
WSP said drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. Troopers continue to investigate the cause and any potential charges.
