ARLINGTON, Wash. — An Arlington woman died Monday after a logging truck crossed the center line and struck her SUV on State Route 530 between Arlington and Oso.
The crash happened around 7:13 a.m. Sept. 14 near milepost 28, according to the Washington State Patrol.

WSP said the logging truck traveled eastbound on SR 530 before crossing the center line and striking a westbound Toyota RAV4.
The RAV4 stopped in the westbound ditch. The logging truck stopped partially blocking the westbound lanes.
Arlington Woman Dies After Logging Truck Collision
WSP identified the RAV4 driver as Lauren M. Kuntz, 28, of Arlington.
Paramedics took Kuntz to Cascade Valley Hospital, where she died.
WSP identified the logging truck driver as Codie J. Hurtt, 24, of Snohomish. Hurtt did not suffer injuries.
Troopers could not confirm whether either driver wore a seat belt.
The crash involved a 2024 Toyota RAV4, a 2025 Kenworth W900 tractor and a 2022 Western Star log truck. WSP reported the Toyota and Kenworth as totaled and listed reportable damage to the Western Star.
WSP has not determined what caused the logging truck to cross the center line. Investigators continue to examine the crash.
Troopers reported no indication of drug or alcohol involvement.
SR 530 Blocked for Hours
The crash closed both directions of SR 530, also known as Arlington-Darrington Road, near milepost 28.
The Washington State Patrol Incident Response Team turned traffic around at 294th Street NE while troopers investigated.

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) later reported that crews turned eastbound traffic around at 294th Street NE.
The closure continued into the afternoon. WSDOT reported after 4 p.m. that crews had reopened SR 530 following the fatal collision.
The WSP investigation remains active. The preliminary collision report does not establish fault or criminal responsibility for either driver.
