KING COUNTY, Wash. — Washington State Patrol detectives are asking for the public’s help identifying a red Jeep believed to be involved in a drive-by shooting on State Route 509. The gunfire struck a pickup truck, but the driver escaped without injury.

The shooting happened at approximately 6 p.m. Monday, June 29, on southbound SR 509 near Cloverdale. According to the Washington State Patrol, the victim called 911 after someone fired at the vehicle while it traveled along the freeway.
The driver exited the freeway and waited for troopers. When they arrived, they confirmed that bullets had struck the victim’s 2013 Dodge Ram pickup. The driver was not injured.
Investigators say the victim was driving southbound when a red Jeep pulled alongside on the driver’s side. The rear-seat passenger, described as a man, reportedly made hand gestures before firing a handgun at the truck.
According to the victim, a woman drove the Jeep and another woman sat in the front passenger seat. After the shooting, the Jeep continued south on SR 509.
Detectives Seeking Information
Washington State Patrol detectives released a photo of the suspect Jeep and are asking anyone who recognizes the vehicle or has information about the shooting to come forward.
