ARLINGTON, Wash. — Authorities are asking for the public’s help as search efforts continue for a missing 30-year-old woman last seen near Arlington on Tuesday evening.
According to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office, Ruth Swanson disappeared from a family member’s residence in the 30100 block of E. Scouten Loop east of Arlington. Deputies said she was last seen around 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 5.
Investigators said Swanson is an avid hiker and had spent significant time hiking in the surrounding area prior to her disappearance. Search and rescue crews began searching Tuesday night and continued operations throughout Wednesday.
A missing person flyer distributed by the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office identifies Swanson as a Skagit County resident. The agency said it is assisting the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office with search efforts.
