BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The Whatcom County Assessor’s Office lobby is closed until further notice after unexpected water damage and an electrical issue affected the office.
Whatcom County announced the closure Monday, Aug. 24, asking residents who need assistance to contact the Assessor’s Office by phone or email rather than visiting in person.
Assessor’s Office Closed to Walk-In Visitors
The county said the lobby at the Assessor’s Office is closed while the issues are addressed. No reopening date has been announced.

The Assessor’s Office is located at 311 Grand Ave., Suite 106, in Bellingham.
The county did not provide additional details about the extent of the water damage or the electrical issue.
Residents are encouraged to contact the office before making an in-person visit while the lobby remains closed.
