BLAINE, Wash. — Blaine police are asking witnesses to help identify the driver of a gray dually pickup that struck a new light pole Tuesday evening near Chada Thai Restaurant.

The collision happened at about 7:48 p.m. near 825 Peace Portal Drive. Police said the vehicle may have been a Dodge or Chevrolet.

A photo from the scene shows the pole knocked from its base and leaning across a landscaped area beside the sidewalk. The impact happened along a recently improved section of Peace Portal Drive.
