ANACORTES, Wash. — A 79-year-old Snohomish man suffered injuries Tuesday after his Jeep crossed the centerline and struck a semi-truck on State Route 20 near Gibraltar Road, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The crash occurred around 10:30 a.m. near milepost 47. As a result, it blocked the highway between Gibraltar Road and Sharpes Corner.

Jeep and Semi-Truck Totaled
According to a WSP press memo, Dorn L. Jellison drove a 2013 Jeep Patriot southbound before crossing the centerline. The Jeep then struck a northbound 2023 Mack Anthem pulling a trailer.
Emergency crews transported Jellison to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The memo did not describe the extent of his injuries.
The semi-truck driver, 26-year-old Daniil S. Nazarov of Ferndale, escaped injury. Both drivers wore seat belts.
Additionally, WSP listed the Jeep, semi-truck and trailer as totaled.
SR 20 Traffic Diverted
WSDOT diverted eastbound SR 20 traffic at Gibraltar Road. Meanwhile, crews diverted westbound traffic at Sharpes Corner.
WSDOT announced SR 20 full reopened shortly before 5 p.m. in its latest update.
Troopers continue to investigate the cause of the crash. Additionally, the WSP memo lists possible drug or alcohol involvement as unknown.
