ANACORTES, Wash. — A two-vehicle injury crash involving a semi-truck blocked both directions of State Route 20 near Sharpes Corner on Tuesday, forcing drivers onto separate detours.

Traffic Diverted Around Crash
The crash occurred near milepost 47. A photo from the scene shows a heavily damaged semi-truck cab resting against the center median. Emergency crews and law enforcement remained at the scene.
The Washington State Department of Transportation diverted eastbound traffic at Gibraltar Road. Meanwhile, westbound traffic was being turned around at Sharpes Corner.
The closure could also delay travelers heading to or from the Anacortes ferry terminal.
WSDOT reported that both directions were open shortly before 5 p.m.
The State Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash. Authorities have not released details about the number or severity of the injuries.
