BOTHELL, Wash. — A 41-year-old Everett man died early Monday after leaving a stalled vehicle on the left shoulder of Interstate 405 and running across northbound lanes near Bothell, according to the Washington State Patrol.

How the Collision Happened
The broader incident began around 3:05 a.m., when WSDOT reported multiple northbound lanes blocking just south of Northeast 160th Street. Crews then worked the scene for several hours as the situation developed.
According to the WSP press memo, a black 2021 Mazda CX5 had stopped on the left shoulder just south of NE 160th Street. The passenger, Felix O. Oloo, 41, of Everett, then exited the vehicle and ran east across all five northbound lanes.
Jayde S. Roush, 26, of Chehalis, driving a white 2021 Hyundai Sonata, struck Oloo in lane one.
Roush immediately called authorities and cooperated with investigators at the scene. She suffered no injuries and wore a seatbelt. Her Sonata was totaled. The Mazda sustained no damage and left the scene under its own power.
Oloo died at the scene. The King County Medical Examiner subsequently completed next-of-kin notification. In total, the roadway remained blocked for three hours and 16 minutes.
Investigation Ongoing
Investigators have not yet determined the cause of the collision. Furthermore, authorities have not confirmed whether drugs or alcohol played a role, and have not explained what led the vehicle to stop on the shoulder or why Oloo entered the roadway. The investigation continues.
