WSP Seeks Help After Person Found Dead Near I-5 Express Lanes

SEATTLE, Wash. — The Washington State Patrol is asking the public for help as detectives investigate a death near Interstate 5 in Seattle.

WSP said troopers responded at about 1:30 p.m. Aug. 23 after receiving a 911 call about a person who appeared to be sleeping in the grass near the entrance to the I-5 express lanes from Seneca Street.

Troopers found the person unconscious and without a pulse. They began CPR, but pronounced the person dead at the scene.

The King County Medical Examiner’s Office believes the person died after falling from an overpass. However, the medical examiner could not rule out the possibility that a vehicle struck the person after the fall.

WSP detectives are now seeking witnesses who may have seen something in the area between Aug. 22 and Aug. 23 that could help investigators determine what happened.
