BURIEN, Wash. — A 21-year-old Seattle woman suffered injuries Wednesday afternoon after a pickup truck struck her while she crossed State Route 518 near Burien, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Troopers said the collision happened at 2:54 p.m. Wednesday on westbound SR 518 near milepost 0.4. Investigators determined the woman was crossing the roadway from the right shoulder toward the left shoulder when a westbound pickup traveling in the right lane struck her.
The impact left the woman, identified by the Washington State Patrol as 21-year-old Isabella E. Renion of Seattle, with injuries that required transport to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Troopers did not release an update on the severity of her injuries.
The driver, 31-year-old David B. Martin of Lynnwood, was not injured. Troopers said he was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Road Closed About 35 Minutes
According to the State Patrol, the westbound pickup came to rest in the travel lane after the collision. The crash blocked the roadway for about 35 minutes while emergency crews responded and investigators documented the scene.
Investigation Continues
The Washington State Patrol listed the primary cause of the collision as “pedestrian in roadway.” Investigators had not determined whether drugs or alcohol played a role, listing that factor as unknown.
The crash involved one vehicle and one pedestrian. No fatalities were reported.
