Border Patrol agents in the Blaine Sector assisted ICE in two arrests near Federal Way and Lynnwood involving individuals with prior criminal records.
BELLINGHAM, Wash. — U.S. Border Patrol agents in the Blaine Sector reported two recent arrests tied to ICE operations in western Washington.
Chief Patrol Agent Rosario Pete Flores said Bellingham agents assisted Enforcement and Removal Operations officers on March 11. The arrests happened near Federal Way and Lynnwood. Both men now face removal proceedings.
Arrest reported near Federal Way
Agents assisted ERO Seattle in arresting Arturo Iglesias Rodriguez, a Mexican citizen, near Federal Way on March 11.
“Iglesias has prior arrests for drugs, DUI, assault, and trespass,” Flores said. “He is now pending removal proceedings.”
Arrest reported near Lynnwood
In a separate case, agents assisted ERO Seattle in arresting Omar Sanchez-Meza, a Colombian citizen, near Lynnwood.
Authorities say Sanchez-Meza has prior arrests for immoral communication with a minor and assault with sexual motivation.
He is also in removal proceedings.
Part of ongoing enforcement activity
These arrests add to a recent series of enforcement actions across western Washington.
Blaine Sector continues to highlight arrests involving foreign nationals with prior criminal histories. The agency often works with ICE and other federal partners.
Officials did not release additional court details in these cases.
What happens next
Removal proceedings are civil immigration cases. They determine whether someone can remain in the United States.
Federal agencies have not released custody details or hearing dates for either man.
