BLAINE, Wash. — Agents with the U.S. Border Patrol Blaine Sector Targeted Enforcement Unit arrested four individuals across Whatcom County in late March, including a new arrest reported Thursday near Lynden.
As a result, all four individuals now remain in federal custody and face removal proceedings.
Latest Arrest Reported Near Lynden
On March 30, agents arrested Gabriel Tellez-Lopez, a Mexican citizen, near Lynden. According to officials, Tellez-Lopez has a prior arrest history that includes allegations of strongarm rape and sexual exploitation of a minor. He now remains in custody pending immigration proceedings.
Multiple Arrests Near Everson Earlier In The Week
Meanwhile, the Lynden arrest follows several earlier enforcement actions near Everson involving individuals with prior criminal and immigration histories.
On March 24, agents arrested Rolando Ramos-Hernandez, a Guatemalan citizen. Authorities report he has a prior arrest for receiving stolen property and multiple prior removals from the United States. He now awaits removal proceedings.
Additionally, agents made two more arrests during March 23 operations:
- Pedro Galicia-Alvarado, a Guatemalan citizen, was arrested near Everson and has multiple prior DUI-related arrests.
- Eduardo Gonzalez Martinez, a Mexican citizen, was also arrested in the same area and has a prior DUI arrest.
Both individuals now remain in custody as their cases move forward.
Targeted Enforcement Activity Increasing In Whatcom County
Overall, these arrests highlight continued targeted enforcement activity by Border Patrol agents operating in northern Whatcom County, particularly near Lynden and Everson.
