BLAINE, Wash. — U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested a Honduran man at Peace Arch Park after he approached agents and asked to return to his home country.
The incident happened March 11, 2026, at Peace Arch Park along the U.S.-Canada border in Blaine.
Authorities identified the man as Bryan Leiva-Padilla.
He walked up to agents and asked to be sent back to Honduras.
Peace Arch Park allows visitors from both countries to meet without crossing a formal port of entry. However, federal authorities still enforce immigration law in the area.
Agents Confirm Status And Arrest Man
Agents spoke with Leiva-Padilla and confirmed he did not have legal status in the United States.
They arrested him at the scene.
He now faces removal proceedings.

This arrest adds to recent enforcement activity in the Blaine Sector, which covers Washington’s northern border.
U.S. Border Patrol agents working with ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Seattle arrested several foreign nationals during enforcement operations in western Washington, according to announcements from the Border Patrol’s Blaine Sector this week.
Officials reported multiple arrests last week tied to operations conducted March 10 in both Bellingham and the greater Puget Sound region.
Agents patrol areas between ports of entry, including parks, wooded areas, and coastal zones.
