BLAINE, Wash. — Federal officers at the Blaine port of entry arrested a citizen of India after allegedly discovering a stolen firearm, loaded magazines and other prohibited items, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials.
Authorities said the arrest occurred Feb. 23. The individual was taken to jail. Officials have not released the person’s name or additional details about the incident.
According to the Seattle Field Office, items seized included a firearm reported stolen, multiple loaded magazines, a rifle scope and what officials described as a trip wire device. Investigators also cited an extensive criminal history that includes multiple DUI arrests and reckless driving.
No information has been released about the individual’s intended destination or how the items were detected.

Federal inspection protocols require officers to screen travelers and vehicles for a wide range of prohibited or restricted items, including:
- Undeclared firearms, ammunition and weapons accessories
