Officers in Blaine, WA arrested a citizen of Brazil that was illegally working in the U.S. (DFO Seattle)
BLAINE, Wash. — U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers in Blaine arrested a Brazilian citizen who authorities say had been working in the United States without authorization, according to the DFO Seattle Field Office.
Officials said the individual was previously arrested in December 2025 on suspicion of domestic violence and harassment. The agency did not release the person’s name or additional details about that case.
At U.S. ports of entry, Customs and Border Protection officers screen travelers against law enforcement databases such as NCIC. The checks flag prior convictions, warrants, or immigration violations so officers can deny entry or start removal proceedings when required.
Officers took the individual into custody and transported him to a detention facility for processing.
PNW Daily requested additional information from federal officials, including whether the arrest was part of a broader Blaine Sector operation. Officials have not responded.
Federal agencies have announced several immigration-related arrests across Whatcom County in recent months. However, authorities often release limited details about individual cases.
