Everson, Wash. — Police arrested a 26-year-old woman Monday night after a high-speed pursuit through Everson and Nooksack.
According to the Everson Police Department, the incident began at about 7:43 p.m. on February 2, 2026. An officer conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of Nooksack Avenue. The stop occurred due to speeding and expired vehicle registration.
Driver flees during traffic stop
Officers identified the driver as Angelina Josh, 26. Police confirmed she had an outstanding warrant out of Bellingham.
When the officer attempted to take Josh into custody, she placed the vehicle in drive and fled the scene. Officers immediately initiated a pursuit.
Pursuit travels through Everson and Nooksack
The pursuit continued through the cities of Everson and Nooksack. Police say Josh drove at extremely high speeds.
During the pursuit, she committed multiple traffic violations. Officers worked to stop the vehicle while maintaining public safety.
Vehicle crashes near Mission Road
The pursuit ended near the 6100 block of Mission Road. Police say the vehicle left the roadway and came to rest near a private driveway.
Josh then exited the vehicle and fled on foot.
Suspect taken into custody after foot chase
Officers caught Josh following a brief foot chase. No officers or members of the public were injured during the incident.
Medical personnel evaluated Josh at the scene. Officers then transported her to jail without further incident.
Charges filed
Police booked Josh on multiple charges, including:
- Attempting to elude a police vehicle
- Reckless driving

The Everson Police Department thanked the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office, Sumas Police Department, Whatcom County Fire District No. 1, and community members for assisting during the incident.
